  Dogs follow you to the bathroom due to their instinctual need for companionship, security, and curiosity about your activities.     Pack Instincts: Dogs are pack animals, and following you to the bathroom is a way for them to feel secure and connected. They see you as their leader and want to stay close to ensure both your safety and theirs.  Curiosity: Dogs are naturally curious creatures. They want to know what you are doing, especially in a space that seems private to them. Your bathroom activities, such as showering or using the toilet, are intriguing to them.  Loyalty and Protection: Many dogs feel a strong sense of loyalty and may follow you to protect you. They want to be there in case anything happens, even if it’s just a flushing toilet.  Socialization: Dogs thrive on social interaction. Following you around, including to the bathroom, is a way for them to maintain that bond and stay engaged with you.  Separation Anxiety: Some dogs may follow their owners due to anxiety about being apart. If they feel insecure when you leave the room, they may follow you to feel more comfortable.  Breed Traits: Certain breeds, often referred to as “Velcro dogs,” are more prone to following their owners everywhere. Breeds like Border Collies and German Shepherds are known for their strong attachment to their humans.
